When it’s hard, push harder. When it’s tough, get tougher. Build a relationship with discomfort and do what it takes to reach your goals. That’s the message from this week’s guest, CrossFit competitor and personal trainer Will Trujillo, of Big Dawgs remote coaching. He talks about the importance of trust between trainers and trainees, how to align your actions with your end goals, and how to recognize the little wins along the way.

It comes down to learning to love the burn. There are always going to be days when you don’t feel like going to the gym or the court or the pool, but it’s important to remember why you’re doing it. By keeping your goals in mind and seeing the big picture, you can learn to have fun and find peace in doing the tough work that will lead you down the path to personal achievement.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Develop a competitive mindset
  • Foster positive relationships between players and coaches
  • Find alignment between actions and goals
  • Learn to love the challenges and embrace the whole process
  • Have vision and commitment

Competitive is really a mindset and a lifestyle.” -Will Trujillo

“Sometimes this is going to suck. Sometimes it’s going to hurt. Sometimes you’re just going to have to deal with it.” -Will Trujillo

“Yeah, it’s painful. But we need to foster this relationship with the pain and with the not so pretty parts so that we can find peace and fun in it. And when you can do that, competition is nothing.” -Will Trujillo

“Some mornings you don’t want to get up and go to the gym, but you take pride in focusing on that daily process because it’s that daily process repeated that ultimately gets you to that end goal.” -Jake Thompson

“Alignment means that your thoughts, your beliefs, and your actions are all pointed in the right direction and that they’re truthful.” -Will Trujillo
