There’s a huge difference between “I can’t” and “I won’t.”
Many people confuse the two.
“I can’t workout before work.”
“I can’t do dry January.”
“I can’t….. (fill in the blank with what pops in your head that you’ve said this month).
It sounds good, maybe even convincing…
But if we’re honest, it’s nothing more than us making an excuse and trying to justify why it’s not an excuse.
It’s common practice, but a behavior we have to overcome if we want to be successful.
We CAN wake up earlier and workout in our garage before work, we just choose to stay up late watching Netflix and sleep in.
We CAN do dry January, we simply choose not because we worry about FOMO or what others might say if they catch us drinking tonic water + lime instead of booze.
We CAN… do most things we say we can’t. We just won’t because we choose not to.
It’s not a can/can’t issue. It’s a choice one.
And that’s fine.
Seriously. It’s ok if you choose not to…
But you revoke any right to complain about the lack of results.
“He’s just luckier.”
“She’s just more disciplined.”
“They just have an easier job.”
No.
Most times they just made better choices instead of believing they “couldn’t.”
Turn your “can’t” into “did” and drop off your excuses to raise up better results.
