Ever caught yourself obsessing over the cost of trying and failing?
- What if I go after this goal and it doesn’t work out?
- What will people say?
- Will I even get another shot?
We get so locked in on what could go wrong that we justify doing nothing.
We procrastinate. We hesitate. We wait for the “perfect” time that never comes.
But how often do we stop and ask:
What’s the cost of NOT acting?
There's always a price to procrastinating...
- The longer you wait to take care of your health, the greater your risk for heart disease, diabetes, or another life-altering condition.
- The longer you wait to ask that person out, the more time someone else has to step in.
- The longer you wait to chase your goals, the more chances someone else has to take your spot.
I think about this every time I put off writing my book ideas.
If I don’t put in the work, someone else will. If I sit back and justify my procrastination, someone else will publish the idea first.
And I’ll miss my shot.
The toll of waiting is always higher than the risk of trying.
- Someone else gets the promotion.
- Someone else lands the client.
- Someone else takes the opportunity you kept pushing off.
You can’t go back and start yesterday.
But you can decide if you’ll keep saying, “I’ll start tomorrow,” or if you’ll roll up your sleeves and start today.
Don’t pay the toll of inaction.
Get moving. Today.
